Marco Builds on Tradition With Expansive Video Wall Powered by X2O

Years ago, technology services provider Marco began the tradition of hanging printed pictures of every employee — sorted by hire date — on a 30-foot by 10-foot wall in its St. Cloud, Minnesota, headquarters. That was fine when there were less than 100 employees, but as the company grew to a staff of more than 900, the wall wasn’t large enough and the process of sorting printed photos became cumbersome and time-consuming. To keep the tradition alive, Marco needed an easy way to automate the sorting process and keep up with growth. The answer: a video wall powered by the X2O platform.

Featuring 55-inch displays in a 5 x 2 configuration, Marco’s video wall cycles through pictures of all employees — according to hire date — in stunning 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. If an employee joins or leaves the company, the photos are automatically resorted. Additional employee content appears in a scrolling ticker below the photos. For example, employees who win the company’s C.A.R.E. (Customers Are Really Everything) award get special recognition in the ticker when their photos come up. Another benefit of the wall: Marco can easily update and display its office locations as the company continues to expand geographically.

Now the employee video wall is a symbol of the Marco culture that resonates with its employees, customers, and vendors. It’s always a highlight on tours of the corporate headquarters, and the X2O platform makes it easy to manage.
