The Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) was seeking an innovative way of delivering learning content that drives improved engagement across its large student base.
Developed in partnership with Kinly, this advanced hybrid learning environment powered by X2O OneRoom connects in-room and remote participants in real time, creating an immersive, engaging, and collaborative experience that enhances teaching and learning outcomes.
X2O OneRoom is a scalable, feature-rich platform designed to enhance virtual learning and collaboration through real-time tools like interactive whiteboards, breakout groups, polls, and quizzes. With secure, browser-based access and immersive features such as directional audio and personalized video wall placement, the system fosters meaningful connections between remote and in-room participants. Its intuitive design and flexibility make it the ideal solution for The Royal College of Surgeons’ new virtual classroom, supporting exceptional learning outcomes through an engaging, interactive, and connected experience.
OneRoom has been used with students and has delivered spectacularly on its user experience promise. It adds a layer of interaction that platforms like Teams and Zoom so far lack, particularly with the directional audio and breakout rooms. The lecturers and staff enjoy using the platform and have found X2O support to be extremely responsive. Having the staff and students accept the platform and be excited to use it is a huge win. This is often a barrier to bringing a new platform to the organisation.
