X2O Virtual Classroom

Collaborative Learning Experience Across the Globe

With X2O Media’s enterprise-grade virtual classroom, universities and corporate learning centers can offer a unique learning experience to remote students and employees alike. Remote students are able to experience and participate in everything that is taking place in the live classroom — ultimately bringing advanced education opportunities to people across the globe. X2O's virtual classroom technology features high-definition, bi-directional audio/visual communication, interactive large whiteboards, and presentation monitors with content sharing and integrated collaboration tools.

Multiple camera views, including a unique perspective view camera for each remote participant – enables presenters to deliver the same instructions and content simultaneously to onsite and remote participants. The easy-to-use, intuitive interface allows instructors to focus on teaching, and moderators to focus on the meeting rather than technology. The result is a hybrid environment that will be embraced by users as an effective way to provide an unparalleled experience for all participants.

Scalable Solution

The virtual classroom is the future of remote education and training. It combines the benefits of live, instructor or moderator-led training with the power and flexibility of a cloud-based virtual platform. The virtual classroom supports up to 90 remote participants that appear on dedicated avatar displays with directional audio. Students experience a unique interactive classroom environment between the remote and the in-room attendees. The solution supports SAML based single sign-on for one-click access for students.

High Definition Audio/Video Experience

The virtual classroom features ultra-high quality bi-directional audio/visual communication with intelligent multi-camera views, including a unique perspective view for each remote student. This enables instructors to engage with and deliver the same instructions and content simultaneously to onsite and remote students.

Easy-to-Use Interface

An intuitive interface allows instructors and remote students to focus on the session rather than technology.

Operator View

The instructor or a dedicated meeting operator can add documents, set the seating chart, start a session or control content such as chat functionality and polls from the operator’s view. Using the X2O Desktop application, a user with the proper credentials can simply add a new collaboration session through the UI.

Student View

Remote students join by using the X2O Desktop application or a Chrome browser and the only hardware required is a standard headset and webcam. All students can annotate in color on specific pages or slides without losing the markups already made. This applies to any content being shared – presentations, images, videos or simply a whiteboard. Remote students can also share content and interact with the group.

Case Studies

Through implementing this new standard of remote learning, geographical challenges are no longer and distance learners are able to interact with their classmates as if they were physically in the room.

Higher Education

X2O Media worked with a renowned Ivy League Business School to deliver a state-of-the-art virtual classroom for in-room and distance learning students. The custom classroom includes a high-resolution video wall that mimics the amphitheater-style seating of a university classroom – where up to 60 remote students are displayed on individual life-sized screens simultaneously. All remote students have their own perspective camera and speaker which allows them to speak directly to in-room faculty and their peers.

Enterprise

X2O Media worked with a global consumer products brand to transform their corporate employee learning center into a digital classroom for team collaboration. Virtual participants may interact with instructors and in-room participants via large format displays which each feature a dedicated speaker and camera to facilitate active participation in the training session.
